For the 2nd year in a row, PlanetCare has been selected as the winner of the world's leading innovation competition Zero Microplastics Challenge 2020! The goal of this competition is to contribute to a faster reduction of microplastics emissions from textile washing and pave the way for criteria for microplastics emissions in the Ecodesign Directive for washing machines and filter solutions.
All teams and their products were assessed based on the technical performance and undergone a life cycle analysis, through which the manufacturing, distribution, use, recycling, and final disposal were evaluated as well.
"PlanetCare is the winner in the 'proven solution' category."
- RISE Research Institutes of Sweden, 2020
This achievement is the result of hard teamwork, commitment to circularity and advanced microfiber filtering technology developed by our devoted team.
This is another landmark achievement on PlanetCare’s path to fully preventing microfiber pollution from washing textiles. It is the result of hard teamwork, commitment to circular economy and advanced microfiber filtering technology.
“We are thrilled and very proud for winning this challenge for the second time in a row. It is extremely important for us to provide the best filtering solution and closed loop service to our customers. This comes as a result of hard work, dedication, and expertise of the whole PlanetCare team and I couldn’t be prouder of them. Our filters are extensively and continuously internally tested, but it’s the independent testing such as this that is crucial for validation and full transparency. We are very grateful to RISE Research Institutes of Sweden for facilitating this much-needed innovation competition,” said Mojca Zupan, PlanetCare’s Founder and CEO.
Here's a sneak-peek into our lab where all the magic (and laundry) happens. ?
We would also like to thank the wonderful and supportive PlanetCare community. Knowing so many of you care so deeply about stopping microplastics pollution is the highlight of our journey and keeps us going.
Together, we will push for further legislative changes and we won’t stop until every washing machine has a pollution-stopping filter: domestic and commercial, new and existing.
Hello,
great that you have developed such a super filter,
In Germany it is not yet available, or can you tell me where I can get it in Germany.
greetings
dirk
Hi Dirk, thanks for supporting the mission to keep microfibers out of the ocean! You can easily order your filter online via our online shop: https://planetcare.org/. We're based in the EU so you don't have to worry about any import taxes. Looking forward to hearing how many microfibers you've caught!
How often does one have to replace the cartridges?
Hi, Rosemary! Working with averages, our recommendation is to change a cartridge after 20 washes. If you have pets, then the cartridge will probably get full sooner. Thank you!
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Is it available in Canada or do you ship it here?
Thanks so much.
Ilka
Yes, of course, we ship to Canada, as well:)! Thank you.
